Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese shares fell after U.S. consumer confidence and home prices tumbled, pointing to a worsening outlook for Japan's biggest overseas market.

Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell 37.26, or 0.2 percent, to 16,613.75 at 9:02 a.m. in Tokyo. The broader Topix index dropped 5.23, or 0.3 percent, to 1,601.98.
